Clyde Museum

Clyde is a charming old gold mining town with many beautifully preserved historic buildings. The Clyde Museum pays homage to the township’s colourful and significant past.

Step inside Clyde Museum’s doors and a glittering treasure trove of history will open up to you.

Located on the site of the original County Council building (1878), the museum’s Council Chambers, with its remnants of grandeur from bygone days, is a must see.

With an informative display on the Clyde Dam, (Aotearoa/New Zealand’s largest concrete, gravity dam) and the museum’s changing exhibition space, visitors are insured that there is always something fresh and interesting to experience at this little museum with a big history.

The Museum is open from late October until late April,  Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays) from 1pm-4pm.
